Go Karting in Sharjah is Finally Here, and It’s Unlike Anything You’ve Tried Before
Sharjah’s first electric indoor go-kart track just opened at Altitude Arena. Here’s everything you need to know before you race.
Let’s be honest. Go karting in Sharjah has always meant one thing: leaving Sharjah. Driving to Dubai, dealing with Salik, finding parking, and paying premium prices just to race for fifteen minutes. That’s finally changed.
Altitude Arena at Sahara Centre has launched the Northern Emirates’ first and only electric indoor go-kart track, and it’s sitting right here in Sharjah on Level 2, East Atrium. No drive. No heat. No fumes. Just racing.
I’ve seen a lot of indoor entertainment venues open across the UAE over the years, and the ones that last always share one thing: they give people something genuinely new, not a copy of what Dubai already has. This track does exactly that.

What Makes This Track Different
Most go-kart experiences in the region run on petrol karts. They’re loud, they smell, and the fumes in an enclosed space are something you notice. Altitude Arena went electric from day one, and that changes the whole experience.
Electric karts are quieter, faster to respond, and much more comfortable inside a climate-controlled building. You hear the track, the tyres, the competition. Not a petrol engine drowning everything out.
The fleet runs twelve karts total: six for kids and six for adults. Both fleets are maintained to the same safety standard, with helmets and full safety gear provided on track. Staff supervise every session. The track itself is laid out in the East Atrium, which gives it space and a proper racing feel rather than a cramped circuit squeezed into a corner.
Sharjah’s only electric indoor go-kart track. Open now at Level 2, Sahara Centre.
Who Is This For
Short answer: pretty much everyone. But here’s how different groups tend to use it.
Families: Kids get their own fleet of karts designed for smaller drivers. Parents race separately on adult karts. Everyone races at the same time, same visit. No splitting up, no waiting around.
Groups of friends: Racing with people you know is a completely different experience to a theme park ride. It’s competitive, it’s personal, and it starts arguments that last for days. Highly recommended.

Corporate teams: We get a lot of corporate bookings, and it makes sense. Go-karting levels the playing field in a way few activities do. No technical skills required, just speed and nerve.
Date nights: Not an obvious choice, but one of the best-performing ones. A bit of friendly competition changes the dynamic fast.
Combine It With Everything Else at Altitude Arena
This is where Altitude Arena does something clever. The go-kart track doesn’t exist in isolation. It sits inside a venue that already has six-lane bowling, a billiards lounge, and the Spooky House, which is genuinely one of the most effective scare experiences I’ve seen at an indoor venue in the UAE.
You can walk off the track, grab something from the lounge, and go straight into a bowling session. Or do it the other way round. The whole point of a multi-activity venue is that your group doesn’t have to agree on a single thing to do. Everyone gets what they want.
And it matters for value. Bundled packages at Altitude Arena work out significantly cheaper than booking individual activities separately, which is something families with kids notice immediately. The ‘one stop’ part isn’t just a tagline here; it actually changes how much you spend per person.
“Electric karts in an air-conditioned track, inside a mall with free parking and no Salik. It honestly took me a second to believe it was actually in Sharjah.”

What’s Coming Next
Go-karting is the latest in a series of launches at Altitude Arena, but it’s not the last. The venue is actively developing a full second phase that will include a Trampoline Park, Softplay zone, Ninja Course, Laser Tag, VR Experiences, Rope Course, and dedicated Party Halls.
For Sharjah and Ajman residents who’ve been making the trip to Dubai for entertainment options, the gap is closing fast. By the end of 2026, Altitude Arena is set to be the most complete indoor entertainment venue in the Northern Emirates. The go-kart track is the loudest signal yet that this is serious.
